James Buchanan Laning, a.k.a. "Buck" Laning, fits his nickname real well. With a name like Buck, he was destined to be a deer hunter and an outdoorsman and Big Jake made sure of that from day one. Born in Uvalde, Buck was raised on "deer meat and biscuits". Big Jake made sure that there was always a place to hunt and every free moment in Novmeber and December was always spent hunting. Buck excelled in sports and played football for Rice University after helping Uvalde win a state championship. Earning a degree in Managerial Studies, Buck worked in sales and management until the early 1980's when the land development bug hit him. Buck moved back to Uvalde and began buying and selling ranches in partnership with his father. During the 1990's, the company began focusing on Farm & Ranch brokerage. With nearly 30 years of experience in farm and ranch development and Farm and Ranch sales, coupled with a lifetime of rural living, Buck Laning also has a "WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE" to call upon to serve your farm and ranch needs. A State Certified General Appraiser, Buck performs farm and ranch appraisal work in a large geographic area. Buck is a devoted "Family Man" and Christian and works on Walks To Emmaus, Chrysalis, and Kairos ministries as well as being a High School Sunday School teacher for over 25 years.
